As per CDC, an estimated 800,000 dog-bite injuries require medical attention every year, of which more than 50% occur at the dog owner's property. These roughly account for 1/3rd of all homeowners insurance liability claims. The staggering statistics alone are a clear indication for dog owners to ensure that everyone entering the property is aware of a dog on-premises, especially if it's dangerous.
Not warning visitors may increase liability for the dog owner, as per respective state law. Getting insurance claims becomes tougher, too, in case your dog bites someone.
